what's up 1,000 inches of snow? rain and snow and 1 to 2 inches turned into nothing but snow and almost 10 inches. i was watching the weather at 6 and they said peabody had 5 inches of snow outside. i'm thinking that the weathermen are a bunch of liars because i think we had 5 inches of snow when i got home at 3:30ish. and it snowed and snowed and snowed forever more. and once i was home i was like *squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee* but seriously, 3 storms in one week, and 3 wrong predictions. i should have been a weatherperson. easiest job ever. and snowiest december in a decade. booya!
i had planned on doing christmas shopping yesterday when i got out of work, but because of the blizzard conditions, i much rather wanted to be in my house and not out with the other people shopping lest i get stuck in holiday traffic AND snow traffic. no thanks. 4 hours in my car last week made me a little skittish of being out among the drivers and snow. i will very happily (fucking ecstatically) watch it from my house. so i did 15 tons of laundry instead. but seriously, and we've known this for some time, the dryer is joining the writer's guild and has gone on strike (who knew my dryer was so supportive?) and as such did not feel like drying certain stuff last night. or really, in the past few weeks, but whatever. last night i was angered because i was washing my sheets, and could not have dry sheets in which to sleep on, so i had to go rummaging for sheets and pillowcases to throw on there, and they had to match, and somehow we have like, 3 pink sheets, not one that goes on the bed that has the elastic in it, all sheets. wtf? i was worried about not having my millions of blankets, but i just got new flannel pjs from VS (seriiiiiiously, they need to slow down with the gift rewards and sales), so toasty warm i was. i don't know why i have been talking like yoda in my posts this week. it's not like i have seen like star wars.
speaking of the writer's guild who hasn't thought of doing
this, regardless of a strike?
i feel like there was something else i was going to write about. oh well. oooh. first day of winter is tomorrow. not like it matters since we have over 2 feet of snow already, and what more do you need to feel like winter than everything buried under snow? i can't think of anything. and everything looks so RIDICULOUSLY amazing covered in snow. my next camera might have to be a nice one so i can take pictures of this kind of stuff. because the artist in me is sad that i can't capture this somehow other than with my eyes.
if this is how the winter is going to be, i'm going to be spending a lot of time posting about snow and weather. get ready.
