House Burglars
One day, I'm going to be killed by a burglar. If someone was going to burgle an apartment, I imagine they would call up to see if anyone was home first (if they are, just pretend it was a wrong number). This way, you can just go through the list in the front of who is home and who is not. However, if I'm not expecting someone, I never answer the house phone. If someone wants to contact me, they'll call my cellphone. Which means that if anyone ever took this approach, they would assume we are never, ever home.
