It's still a nutso tour.
Fairly flat stage, and one breakaway. Popovych of Team Discovery managed to surge away a couple of kilometers from the finish. He gained some four minutes on Landis. Second ukranian rider to win a stage this year!
Alessandro Ballan of Lampre came in second over Oscar Freire. So Freire gained some time on McEwen in the green jersey.
Five riders did not finish, two Discovery (Noval and Savoldelli), two Agritubel and a Caisse d'Epargne-Illes Balears rider. They SAY Mayo dropped out yesterday from a throat infection. Eh, whatever. I still say he's a putz. Apparently Savoldelli got taken down yesterday by a spectator and hurt his back.
So overall standings, Landis still in yellow. Popovych is now in 10th place! What a surge. McEwen still in green, with Freire just 25 and Boonen 28 points behind. De La Fuente is still in the leads for the mountain classification with 18 point lead.
Five cat 4s tomorrow. mostly flat though, two intermediate sprints and all down hill to the finish. Whee!
