So after doing fuck nothing all day, I did manage to make mashed potatoes to include with dinner yesterday. Mom came over about five, and I just about had everything ready. She was very nice and decided we didn't need to go eat outside. So I dredged up a breakfast tray, put something under her feet to raise them up for a flat lap. We had potatoes, roast turkey breast and the gravy. I was right, the gravy was awesome. Needed just a touch more pepper though.
After dinner I drove us over to the theatre our friend owns. We got there way early (45 minutes before the movie). But they were still locked up from the previous showing. And I think they were experiencing vending problems (evidenced by the Pepsi guy they let in three times). But we got in about 6:30, chatted with Tom (theatre owner), got some beverages (water) and had a lovely chat before the movie.
We both enjoyed the PotC2. I made her stay for the end of the credits. ::grin:: Rather she went to the bathroom during the credits and watched the last scene from the door with Tom.
Afterward, we went to the DQ next door (also owned by Tom) and got some blizzards.
Mom needed a fun movie, she found out her cousin Ed (brain cancer) had some brain swelling issues and lost some cognitive ability. Mom reads that as his tumor is growing. Sucky. He's Mom's closest friend in the family and has been since she was a little kid.
Today was normal, cranky in the morning. Feh. Anne stopped by after work, I told her I might need a Barns run. Felt a strawberries and creme frappacino might be necessary.
We played at Barns and Noble. Anne bought a stack of magazines. We laughed and laughed. Makes one feel better to giggle at life.
One reason for crabbiness? One of my customers ordered tickets for the Field Museum Tut exhibit on June 6. Apparently they JUST called her. I'm gonna be a goddammed crabby bitch if I don't have tickets for that museum after I drive eight hours to get there. Feh.
Actually, I'm not too worried. But I like things scheduled, ya know? Not necessarily to the minute. But since that was the main purpose of planning the trip, it'd be nice to have that squared away.
Now I'm going to eat my dinner (which should be mashed potatoes and turkey, but is frozen pizza) and go to bed.
