NYE
Well, I worked all day yesterday. We did close early, but I decided the floors were too atrocious to continue and volunteered to mop the floor after work. What better way to start out the new year than with clean floors? Well that was before I spent an hour and a half mopping the damn thing. It does look good though.
I got home from work and took a shower. Then I went to my mom's house for dinner. Jane, mom's girlfriend, made us all dinner. Turns out she's spending the weekend. Bwahah. It was SO much fun making mom turn beet red by just a stare in her direction. ::snork:: I am an evil child. Anyhow, Jane made fettuccine alfredo. It was to die for.
Then I spent a while trying to decide what to do with my freaking shrimp salad. I ended up putting some romaine leaves in muffin cups and spooning the pasta on it. Many people commented on how the liked it, but I still ended up having to throw most of it away. It was out too long. Seafood doesn't do well after four hours, ya know?
We played Catch Phrase with a large group of people. We didn't play teams for more that a few minutes and spent the time just shouting out stuff. One guy asked my mom if she new I was so damn smart. Nothing like an ego boost when you are generally feeling yucky.
I managed to stay until midnight, then I left right after the ball drop.
I saw one taxi and two cop cars (one with its lights flashing) on the short drive home. Other than that, it was rather quiet. I didn't see any obvious drunks.
Today I didn't do much. Dragged my ass outta bed at 11am to see if my paper had magically started getting delivered correctly. It hadn't. I played a couple games on my PSP. I also watched World Strongest Man competition on ESPN. But mostly I just napped.
And ate leftovers.
Now I'm attempting to send this and then watch Serenity again.
