reasons why kendra is applying to the university of kansas:
-every time i joke/muse about selling all my shit and hopping a bus to some really random place, it's almost always kansas
-since the emosplosion, i've had a very bizarre fascination with lawrence, and it's one of the few american cities i really really want to see
-it is in the top 300 universities in the nation, meaning it isnt a total joke school
- KU has scholarship housing, and there are tons of affordable apartments within a mile of campus
-i've "met" some really fantastic internet kids who live in lawrence, so i wouldnt be flying totally blind
-it snows in lawrence
-it is very far away from california, in more ways than one. i need to get out of this state.
-the state abbreviation for kansas is ks, my initials are ks, that's just cool and makes kansas better than you
drawbacks:
- my "it's wild in kansas" shirt would be really super lame if i was actually in kansas
- my mom would have a field day with the "i dont think we're in kansas anymore" shit when/if i came back
- out of state tuition would be a bitch... but i dont have any money anyway, so in the long run, a few thousand extra in loans wont make that huge a difference. i'm going to be paying this shit off for the rest of my life regardless.
