Back to square one! :D
The job fair was cool, but when they finally called me back with an offer, the big giant construction company low-balled me! I know the economy is bad, but the offer just is terrible. I'm not greedy, but even I know when I'm being taken for a ride ;) The guy on the phone wasn't a very good negotiator, and he kept saying things he probably shouldn't of had that gave me the impression that he was fishing for a deal ;)
Anyway.... this has given me some perspective on things. This railroad job.... it is pretty awesome. I really doubt I'm going to find much better. I realize now that my worries were unfounded, and I'll probably end up working there and really enjoying it. I'm going to turn down the other low-ball one, and after calling up my railroad boss to get some more information, he gave me some re-assurance that they are for sure getting the contract and that I will have something for me in august.
Oh well, funny how things work out. I'll just wait and see.
