Despite the terrible economy I think I found a job fair for a company that may very well hire me. They are one of the largest and most respected construction companies in the world, and they have a great company culture (every other friday off, good training programs, organized, friendly, etc).
I'm still hired on with this railroad contractor, but a few things are bothering me. For one, it's taking them forever to give me a "for sure" commitment. Also, the nature of the railroad industry is that of hard work and sweat. They often work saturdays, but they pay rediculously well.
To be honest: money is good, but it's not everything. I'll take the railroad job if there is absolutely nothing else... since something is better than nothing... but tomorrow I'm hoping for the best. I could very well end up with a good offer, good benefits, and a good company that will train me well and will give me some vacation time when needed.
