An entry in three point two parts
Report on weekend (the boring part that says what I bought.)
This weekend was spent visiting my grandparents, which was, as always, irritating but somehow worthwhile. We did a lot of shopping because natalie wanted to mostly, and I ended up with a very nice yellow summer dress, a rosy top and a sleeveless button down top that is the same color as the giant bruise on my arm. (photo to be posted later.) mom, grandma and I also went to this bookstore called the book loft, which has 32 rooms of books. I visited them all and ended up with some new Wilde and Chekov, as well as NAKED LUNCH which I have been wanting forever. Oh Mr Burroughs, what a character you were!!
FAMILY HISTORY
We also drilled them for information on family history, because my sister will be visiting Saco, Maine, where my grandpa first lived when they moved here from Greece. my great-great-great--grandmother is buried there. Her name is Thriadaphilio Maroulis. her first name means 'three-times-kissed rose.' Which I think is hella cool. grandpa said he had a picture of her grave marker, so he went digging through tons and tons of pictures, and although he didn't find it, he did find lots of other neat pictures, including one of him in front of his father's restaurant in Auburn, NY at around age 14. It's the greatest picture I've ever seen. (photo of picture to be posted later.) There were also lots of school pictures of my dad.
Event (partially humorous)
We took Grandpa to the Olive Garden for his birthday. (The food was.... eh. My mom makes so much better.) We had the waiters sing to him and bring him cake. He announced after they were singing that it was his sweet 16. (he's 85.) A woman near us (probably in her 60s) said "i'm only 12!" and later came and gave him a kiss on the cheek... complete stranger. I want to be almost that batty when I'm that age.

Today is devoted to cleaning. Holidays mean relaxing and goofing off for most people, but for my mom, it means make her kids clean her house.
