The Dreamwidth land rush
I'm over on Dreamwidth now too, as http://tangerinepenguin.dreamwidth.org. Please note that "tangerine" is spelled with the trailing "e" on Dreamwidth, unlike LJ where I was over the length limit by one character and that was the one voted off. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it right off the bat, but will probably be poking around a bit over the next few days.
For those who have no idea what I'm talking about, Dreamwidth represents an attempt to recreate LJ "as it should have been" without the perceived corporate greedheading of the last couple years. As such, it's running a branched copy of the open source LJ software, but running off in their own direction from here. At the moment, there are some number of free invite codes floating around, but they've just opened paid subscriptions and that seems to be the route most people are going while they give it a whirl.
