Holy crap, it really has been four years. It really does not feel that long since
the move, but that's July in Seattle.
What else is July in Seattle? Well, 'tis this season of outdoor festivals, many of which seem like excellent opportunities for the Usual Suspects to get together and enjoy Seattle's better season. Who else would be up for any and all of the following, from my current agenda for the month:
July 4-6, noon to 10pm (7pm Sunday) -
Seattle International Beer Festival at Seattle Center - beer tastings, plus some food and a more generic beer garden for those who want to tag along but not do the Beer Snob thing. I'm tentatively thinking of evenings, either the 4th or 5th
Sat. July 5, 2pm-6ish - Classic Bond at SIFF Cinema (Seattle Center) - SIFF kicks off their
Bond and Beyond series with From Russia With Love and On Her Majesty's Secret Service. I expect to be going to the rest of the series too, but this looks like it might dovetail nicely with the Beerfest.
Sat. July 12, 2pm-9ish -
Seattle Outdoor Theater Festival, Volunteer Park - mostly Shakespeare, from a variety of companies, including GreenStage's Hamlet in the 7pm slot. Very well suited to a group picnic blanket.
Sun. July 13, noon-9ish - a second day of the Outdoor Theater Festival at Volunteer Park
Additionally,
Seafair '08 runs through the month and into August - anything there look like good swarming opportunities?
