Triskaidekaphilia meme
Thirteen things that are going well for me this Friday the 13th:
1. Spring, and the return of daylight, however cloudy
2. On a light-related note, getting bulbs back in the overhead lights at work. The folks who used to be in my row preferred the "cave dwelling programmer" model, and after a few months of trying it, I've decided that a brighter environment (even if has to be fluroescent) is better for me. Especially in the morning.
3. A recent interviewee has accepted our offer, so my team at work gets another dev soon
4. My cardio - viewed as level of effort required to hit "target range" pulse and speed of recovery - has visibly improved during my workouts
5. Two extra days for taxes this year; not that I'm hoping to use them, but my mac looks like it's going right back into the shop for a bit so I may have to rebuild some records from paper
6. My World of Warcraft mage has hit the (increased) level max, has scored the flying gryphon mount, and has maxed out tailoring (primal mooncloth bags FTW... if anyone could afford them) Now I just need to get keys to all the spiffy endgame instances.
7. Just slightly under one month to the SIFF Festival members preview, and just over a month until the festival itself
8. In the meantime, 70mm print of Lawrence of Arabia playing at the Cinerama in a week or so!
9. My final round entry in the Space Pirates story contest is in. There's some very good competition, so I'm not too hopeful about first place, but my character sketch (from the first round) was one of the ones that saw a lot of use, so that's a decent ego boost.
10. Just arrived: multislackerkim got me a gift card good at any of local Iron Chef winner Tom Douglas' restaurants for my birthday. My sister is so cool!
11. On the way in to work: two guys carrying a large awning for a storefront, and the one walking backward is beeping. Gotta love it.
12. The pager has been relatively quiet during the last couple of oncall rotations, which is always a good sign.
13. The Olympic Sculpture Park is now open, replacing (mostly) one of the sources of construction noise near my apartment with a lovely area to enjoy the increasingly good weather
