(no subject)
The weekend always goes by waaay too quickly. Went to the Mariners game on Tuesday (Toronto, yeah!), grandparents from England got here on Wednesday, my little sister's prom on Saturday. . . I went around with Kjersti to all of her appointments, etc. and helped her get ready. She looked so beautiful. Of course me, the over-sensitive sister, started crying. She told me that she's decided to come up to UBC for school in the fall! I am so excited, it's going to be amazing! Saturday night started to move things into my new place, went grocery shopping and had a few people over to check it out. Sunday I saw Star Wars, and I don't care if that makes me nerdy, it was SO GOOD. I LOVE STAR WARS! After Julie's graduation, we moved the rest of my stuff into my house and then decided to have a barbeque. Obviously we are both idiots and have no idea how to work a barbeque or even cook things on the grill. How hard can it be though, right? WRONG. We lit the coals on fire and put our food on after 20 minutes like it said on the package. After about an hour we are wondering why our food isn't cooked yet, so we decided to dump out the old coals and start over again. At this point we are getting kinda drunk so we forget to pour water on the coals! We start up the grill again, put our food back on and then come back after another hour. I come out on the balcony, minding my own business, turning over the burgers (well, trying to at least). . .
Julie: "Uhh, Ashley. . .did you do that on purpose?"
Me: "Do what?"
I look over my shoulder, and the deck is ON FIRE! HOLY SHIT. Because I'm a drunk fat kid it doesn't even register for a few seconds, so I go back to the food. 3. . .2. . 1. . .THE DECK IS ON FIRE! So I am running around like an idiot, Julie is trying to put out the raging blaze by dumping one small cup of water at a time. . .basically the worst cooking experience ever. For future reference, hamburgers are only supposed to take 7 minutes to cook.
