Bolero

A couple of nights ago I dreamt that some guy was playing Ravel's Bolero.  If you don't know this song, it starts out quietly with the main melody played by (I think) a clarinet.  The melody gets passed around the orchestra as the rest of the musicians slowly crank up the volume, until by the end it's thundering along.  In my dream, the guy started

There is a theory about why we dream which proposes that we dream partly in order to perform bookkeeping, and get rid of memories that are taking up space that we're not doing anything with. This theory was created to explain recurring dreams: you dream to dispose of a piece of information, but something in the dream wakes you up and makes you remember it, which means you need to dream it all over again to get rid of it, which makes you wake up and remember it, and so on.

I would be interested to know if you have a similar dream sometime in the next few years.
