Miles and miles of nothing but....

ROAD!!!!! WOW, what a drive!!! But I did it and survived it! Didn't think I could?

Okay the interview...

When I got to the offices I went to the one where the security guard sits and watches the parking lots. Wrong doors. He told me where to go, by showing me on his monitor. He also, called over to the office to let Ms. Kozenecki know that I was there. When I got there she was in another interview, so I went ahead and met with Mr. Layer (the hiring manager) first. The first part of the interview is basic stuff where he went over my resume and asked questions off of it. Then the second part he had like to pages of questions; First about what programs I really enjoy working in. The rest were scenarios of "what would you do" and "have you ever... explain." Lets just say that for each question he asked me I answered so well that he ran out of room to write a note about what I said.

Then on to my portfolio: When we had gotten through like 3 or 4 of my boards (I think I have like 10-14 of em') he looked at his appointment list, then at his watch, and then at me and said, "My next appt. will have to wait. I really like what I am seeing, and I want to see the rest." As well with each board he wrote notes on a blank sheet of paper about each piece that he saw. After that was done, we kinda talked about my schooling and what it all entailed and stuff like that. He told me that his daughter was looking for a good art college to go to. I made it aware to him how each student is accepted into this college, and if she is accepted to be expecting a lot of work (as in art work) to do. That each quarter is a 21 credit course. He said a sorta "thank you" for telling him that. Then he asked me if I would like to have a tour of the facility? I said yes, and he then showed me around the entire building... even the cafeteria!!!!

Then after the tour, he told me that he has a couple more people to interview with and that he will get back with me shortly after them.

Then I met with Ms. Kozenecki for the basic questions that she deals with, and he doesn't. Like how much pay (the average graphic designer, right out of college makes $20-25 thousand). Lets just say that I'll be making what my lil sis is making being a nuc. med. tech. Since "re-location" funds are not in the job description I asked her if I could get like an advancement to help me with the move or something. But if that was not possible then not to worry about it. She said that she would have to check on that. I asked her when I should hear something back about the position, and she said as early as Friday and a late as the beginning of next week. I gave her my work number (b/c I work all day tomorrow).

So... over all, I think it went REALLY seriously well!!

Each time I would answer any of Mr. Layer's questions, his eyes really lit up with my responses. It was kind (no really) cool to see his responses to my answers.
