this is why i love the huffington post so much. cenk uygar's thought-provoking, incendiary, intellegent and plain-spoken blog entry, "no tolerance for islam."
don't skip past this one, folks. take a few minutes, not just to read the post...scroll thru a few pages of the comments. that site makes me think, and think hard, every day. the comments are often at least as, if not more, deft and insightful as the posts. of course, there's plenty of crap in both (posts and comments), but all in all i thought you might be interested in how i spend a good portion of my day.
this whole issue of the former-muslim in afghanistan being executed for converting to christianity is among the most heart-wrenching things to think about. do any of you love ANYTHING as much as these people love their religion? (i don't mean that accusatorily...i really want to know) i'm breathless when i think of how deep the emotion, the mania, the hysteria, the fanaticism are. it is purely incomprehensible, really.
cosmic good juju to arianna huffington and her crew and bloggers. i'm a better person for the kind of thinking that site makes me do.
