open // trinity hall FLLC club booth // all day wetworking August 25 2010, 05:26:24 UTC
[The banner reads, in the neatest calligraphy possible, Future Leaders & Ladies of the City. And behind it, a few girls who'd volunteered or been roped in to watching the booth that banner belonged to.

Hazuki Mina, 12th grade, and transfer student who still wears her old uniform, looked... well, not thrilled to be there. Deliciously blank. And giving the same lines to everyone who showed an interest.

Needless to say, she has ulterior motives for being in the FLLC in the first place.]

Miss Hazuki.

[Lulu Bell, lurking amongst the club booths with the hope of preventing trouble, stops to address the promising-looking transfer. Ah, that unveiled apathy reminds her of her own school days.]

How are you finding Trinity Hall?

Miss Bell.

[Apathetic as she seemed, she was a model student- quiet, intelligent, made no trouble and did what was required of her. Which meant responding to teachers.]

It's quite satisfactory, thank you.

[Students like Hazuki were Lulu Bell's favorites. They didn't make trouble and they took their education seriously; it would be girls like that who would truly lead the City.]

I'm pleased to hear this. You have had no unpleasant experiences with students or staff?

open | trinity hall | girls going places club booth | all day ms_marycontrary August 25 2010, 06:39:34 UTC
[This booth is one of those really nice ones, with an awning that has the banner We are the Girls Going Places strung across the way, as well as a music system hidden under the table to play the latest catchy pop song at passersby, whether they like that kind of music or not.

Merry is standing behind the booth setting out flyers and the guest list on the table. Pictures of the cute ice cream sandwiches (that Riff helped her make) and cold sodas they're selling are also going up-- because hey, a club has to make funds here and there.

Other officers and applicants, come on down~]

[Lihua was, to put it simply, feeling rather overwhelmed. So many clubs, so many people...

She knew she ought to join something- right? But what...

The banner caught her eye, though, and she paused before the booth, awkwardly watching for a bit. Girls Going Places... ?

[Lalala, putting up more decorations and posters, because their awning needs more of them. And then she turns and notices someone watching. Watching people means people interested in the club! Or at least the ice cream sandwiches. Merry would take either person.]

Oh, hi there! Welcome to our booth!

H- Hello.

[She'd almost jumped upon being addressed, but quickly straightened up, sidling over a bit closer to the booth so she wouldn't have to yell over the crowd]

Ah... I was wondering. What sort of places you were. Going...

[It's a simple booth, with a banner that reads "SELF-DEFENSE CLUB" in big, dark letters, and a little cat sketched near the bottom. About eight meters behind the stand is a target nailed to a pole, and on the table is a box of twenty or so darts. They were the closest he had to knives, and he wasn't dumb enough to bring those where a teacher would see them, anyway. A little stuffed cat is casually draped over the box's edge.

Kanone watches the passing people with a smirk, trying to look friendly but not really advertising his club. His plan is to avoid anyone he sees from Ohtori (due to his less-than-pleasant experience there) and make mental notes of those he finds suitable to join the self-defense club.]

[Hanna smiles weakly as he walks up the the booth.]

Hi...any luck so far? I got the posters up...they're subtle, promise.

[As if to prove his point, he hands Kanone one of the extra posters. They're similar to the banner on the booth, except they tell people who are interested to come to the club fair. Also, the little cat he's sketched on the bottom is in a karate outfit.]

...dya like them? I can go take them down and change them if you don't like how they look...

Nice work, Hanna. [And he pats him on the back, a little too roughly.] Not too over-the-top. It's nice to know there are people who can still follow directions!

[He picks up the stuffed cat and laughs.] We're still waiting for interesting people. Only special students can be part of this club, you know!

[Hanna smiles weakly and winces slightly as he gets smacked on the back. Of course, he's not going to tell Kanone that he's bruising from a recent run-in with bullies while hanging up the posters...]

I do my best...I'm glad you like them...I put them up all around where people who might be interested are...you know, the gym and places like that...

...I've got a few more copies in my locker if you think we need more up...

Open || Ohtori Academy Tea Club || All Day! o_tea_p August 25 2010, 14:04:31 UTC
[The booth is a vision. Exotic plants are arranged artfully all over, providing bursts of color and a delicate scent that complements the delicious aroma wafting from a beautiful pot of tea. Tiny flower-shaped dishes are full of different mixtures of tea leaves, each smelling more intoxicating than the last. A sign above reads, in masterfully executed calligraphy, "OHTORI ACADEMY TEA CLUB".

Iroh sits serenely at the table, sipping a cup of tea with a satisfied smile, totally oblivious to the strange looks he's getting from real students.]

Iroh!

[Penny, eager to see what kinds of clubs are being offered by the various schools, wandered down to have a look around as soon as her office hours were over. She knows Iroh from her days at Ohtori and has tried to keep in contact with the affable cafeteria worker.

She apparently doesn't find the fact that a cafeteria worker has a club booth at all strange.]

This looks amazing! ...But how're you doing? What's up?

Penny!

[Iroh brightens and immediately pours the young teacher a cup of her favorite tea, offering it with a warm smile.]

It's just a humble effort, but I'm glad you like it. How are you doing? It's been too long.

[Beaming, Penny accepts the tea. Chamomile... Iroh never seemed to forget.]

I love it. I'd join right away if I could. [She leans against the booth and sips the tea (perfect, of course), taking care not to disturb Iroh's display.] Things're great. Second semester of teaching up at the university... good students... lots of things to stay busy with. I should visit more, though...

You're still shaking it up at Ohtori, huh?

Open // Westerberg High // Chess Club Booth // Afternoon absinthe_eyed August 25 2010, 14:08:51 UTC
[The table and scrawled sign--"WESTERBERG HIGH CHESS CLUB"--hardly constitute a booth. There is a sign-up sheet and a chess set on the table. Behind the table is Justin, hunched over a book and making no effort whatsoever to encourage people to join.]

[Thanks to the book and the fact that Rudy actually has a knack for being rather stealthy when he wants to be, Justin may not notice his favourite antagonist's approach to the booth. Or at least, not until one of the white pawns is shifted forward in a classic opening move, making a soft click against the wood of the board as it comes to rest in its new square.]

[Well-played, Mr. Miller. Justin glances up at the sound of pawn against wood, hurriedly removing his reading glasses. Great. Just who he wanted to see.]

Rudy.

[Okay, so that wasn't the scathingly clever opening remark he wanted to make. Maybe next time.]

[Rudy is as impassive as ever, but he does greet Justin's attention with a slight nod.]

Harold.

[He gestures politely toward the chessboard.]

Your move?
