JAPAN!
So it's 7 in the morning here and im awake. bummer. i thought i was on japan time but i guess not. im sitting in my sisters apartment in toyohashi japan, its cool. she has like her own life with her own money and i am jealous. today we leave for kyoto and see all the ancient temples and shrines and stuff, that will be neat. everyone here is soooo nice. they dont get mad that we dont speak any japanses they just laugh and get excited to see americans. last night at dinner at this italian place (it was good) we were paying the bill and they had like whitney houston on and ase of base and stuff so me and my sister started dancing and then my dad grooved a little too and the people behind the counter were just laughing and then they started dancing too and then they told us how one of the guys made the speakers and we were like 'ooo' its fun, everyone likes to dance. after that we went to a karoke place but it was like a big room with one machine and everyone watches, you get like your own private room. which i didnt think would be as fun cause im with my parents, but it was pretty fun. i sang scrubs and i will survive and aint no mountain... it was fun. afterwards we went into one of those photobooths with the stickers that come out and it was complicated cause all the words were in japanese so we just guessed until we came to a road block when we asked three girls to help us by using crazy hand gestures and confused faces. they helped and then as we were both leaving i said 'see you' and then they all got really excited and said 'see you!!!' back. its fun doing that.
earlier in the day we went to one of my sisters schools that she teaches at. right when we got there a bunch of girls were playing softball so my dad got really excited. they were really good though, it was cool to see. we went in and her coworkers greeted us (some better with english than others) and we walked around the school. the kids are between their school years now so they have a two week break, in which they still have to some to school but they just do sports all day. we went into the gym where they had tons of pingpong tables set up. some of the kids were sooo good! it was fun when we walked in cause they all just stopped and stared at us and then we'd wave and theyd go 'halloooo' and we'd be like 'konichiwaaaa' and then we'd all laugh. one of the pingpong instructors pulled my sisters boyfriend aside and made him play against one of the kids, it was pretty funny, he lost.
i love eating here, its like a whole nother adventure. hope everyones having a good break! see you!!!!
