Opening Night!

Apologies for my appalling lack of updates. I've been so incredibly busy with drama that it's a scratch to even breathe, let alone update my LJ.

OPENING NIGHT was last night :D:D:D

It went suprisingly well, considering it was opening night and opening night is usually the epic fail night. No huge stuff-ups (nothing like Macbeth, my first production last year, in which we had to stop the play for 15 minutes because the projector broke), no major major dramas. The stage crew had the toughest job. Because Roger is a dickhead, he decided AFTER the final dress rehearsal that he was going to add an extra curtain backstage and change all the stage crew directions, the way the sets came on etc. Does he have any idea how much pressure that put on the stage crew? They did a really great job considering, though.

The energy struggled a little bit for some people, but for me it was all good. The singing failed at the end of Storm II, unfortunately, but we kept changing it so many times it was no wonder. Shame, because Storm II is one of the only bits where the Dreamers really get to do stuff rather than standing around looking scary (along with House on a Hill). I had a ball on stage, though, an absolute ball. House on a Hill was fun. I always love doing that song. A few people are saying that the singing was out of time in a few songs, but that's probably because the music was really quiet for some reason. I thought Final Storm was awesome, but some people are saying it was out of time- it sounded really good to me, though... The energy was up, that's for sure. And nobody accidentally punched me in the face this time. :D I almost stacked it in the first garden scene, but not quite. Damn my extremely long skirt. Bianca nearly tripped in the final garden, I think, but I didn't see it.

The main cast were all fantastic. Energy was soaring for them, and even though the singing was a little off in some parts, they did a really good job keeping it together. I was tearing up in 'Girl in the Valley' again, that song always gets me. Archie and Lily dancing together is the saddest thing. :'( Porter and Ella sound fantastic together.

So many good times in the dressing room. There are always good times in the dressing room. I'll never forget Chelsea singing that stupid song from Family Guy while Roger was yelling 'TURN THAT MUSIC DOWN!' right behind her. That terrible song 'Love Story' playing about twenty times, and everyone belting out 'RIVERSIDE MOTHERFUCKERS!'.

I'm going to miss this production.

the secret garden, epic win, opening night
