I've been home for 3 weeks now. I have been suffering from reverse culture shock a bit, but not too badly, mostly just a bit depressed that I have to find a real job and missing my friends. I have found a real job, bottom of the skill ladder, but decent pay and flexible hours, giving me the option of picking up a course or two before I start Uni. I finally finished unpacking and sorting my stuff, but as a result I now have two more storage boxes to put in the basement.

Good things: The air is so clear, I can see for miles and there is no pollution haze. The colors of Autumn in Lethbridge are gold and burgundy and chocolate, I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed separarte seasons (I may feel differently when I'm up to my ass in snow). Hanging out with Kat and watching weird/interesting new shows and talking about everything. A wide variety of foods, ethnic and otherwise. Lack of garbage, I can drive down the highways and see only the rare windblown bag, not fields of plastic and decaying waste, and the streets are clean and don't smell of raw sewage or rotting trash.

Bad things: Everything is so expensive...food especially. Not being able to play the 'foreigner card' to get things expedited. Being hit in the face with politics, mostly American, and the knowledge of how badly screwed up our foreign policies are and how blindly Canadian politicians are following American lead. (It hurts my brain)
