My hours at work have been drastically cut short. I'm still on call for major crime incidents, but my day to day duties have been curtailed to a few hours a week. I left work today before two pm, came home, ate leftovers, and took a depression nap. I hate not working. I've worked since I was in middle school and I go into low-key panic mode when I'm not working. Thankfully, I qualify for 80 hours of Emergency Sick Leave through the federal government, and I have a lot of sick time and vacation time banked, but I don't want to have to use it all up for this.
I did sign up for extra help with the county's disaster services, which may go into effect at some point if it gets bad here. The coordinator should be calling me for an interview to determine what skills I have that can be put to use. Even if it's just answering phone calls, I'd be happy with that.
Still no confirmed cases in Lake County. I hope this ends soon and we can all get back to work.
