When did JT turn to hip hop?

Okay yeah. I got into an interesting conversation with someone today (who had my same opinion) and one yesterday with someone about the same thing (with a different opinion.)

I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed the shit that I do about music. I know that some people won't agree with me, I know some people will back me up, and I know some people will see this and not care. But since when does talking faster than your brain can produce proper words and spelling your name wrong ensure you of an amount of money that you could never spend in your entire life? I see so many rappers out there, on TV and on the radio doing stuff that ANYONE with enough brain power could do easily, and yet they still get away with being called cool. You're not.

Is it just me also that sees the dedication that it takes to make a REAL band big? I mean, I see the dedication that ROCK bands put into their music/work/love and I admire them a whole hell of a lot more than I do any black rapper, or hell white rapper I've ever seen. It takes a lot to be out in the scorching sun and promote yourself with all your power just so one person will buy a CD that you worked like hell on. Being turned down is probably the worst thing to feel when someone listens to your music, but these guys deal with it on a daily basis and still persist with their little MP3 and CD players in their cardboard holders, trying to get you to listen to about 30 seconds of their song. I respect any people in any band that gives their all into their passion and bugs people until they give them a chance and finally realize that they like them.

What is wrong with the world when fucking rappers become the new fucking Messiah to people? Even people that don't experience what the rappers insist on going on and on about think that it's the greatest thing to enter their ears and destroy their brain power. Does it really take that much to write down a couple lines about how you fucked a white bitch in the back of your Escalade and now you don't think the baby's yours because "bitch is a hoe?" They're somehow cool because they sit there and write this shit and put a "UH UH" beat to it and slap it on a record. But to me, they're the exact opposite of what I find awesome. Oh, and people argue that rappers "rap about their problems." I'm sorry if you "have 99 problems but a bitch ain't one." What, you didn't get your check so you could go out and buy yourself another fucking rim? So sorry for you. Hope that works out.

It takes people to stay out in the HOT and COLD weather and bust their humps performing for the kids that love them so much to be considered a band to me. Busting your lip on your microphone and still singing even though blood is pouring onto it is dedication that will never be matched. Matt Breen from Emanuel has my respect for that.

Meeting guys in the bands that still haven't made it big is a great priviledge because you see them trying to make a living doing something they enjoy. And they're great guys, making conversation, becoming friends with potential fans (even people that are already BIG fans, even if they don't notice.) Tents that are labeled with the band name in duct tape appeal to me more than any misspelled rapper name out there. Sorry if that disappoints.

I respect bands who promote their music themselves, not through other people they hire.
I respect bands that do everything in their power to talk to their fans and make friends with them.
I don't respect anyone who wants to rap about shit that isn't important and that doesn't appeal to anyone but the same kind of people they are (which isn't good to admit to.)
I admire bands that sing about stuff they've been through and stuff that other people relate to.

I don't have anything against rappers in general as people. Some of them do good things for rock bands that help them. But as artists, I couldn't have less respect for them. And let me point out that most of them don't do shit other than buying some more cars or metal for their mouths.

You have no point in having a microphone because all you do is talk improper english and degrade women.

And that's why I don't respect you.

(Sorry if someone reads this and they're offended. That might possibly be what I was looking for.)
