Apple's App Store is currently selling an app called Peekaboo Tranny.
"Tranny" is a slur against transgendered people. Apple exercises editorial control over what apps get sold in their store, so when they allow something like Peekaboo Tranny to be sold in their store, they're essentially giving it their endorsement and saying that mocking transpeople is acceptable.
Northbard wrote an excellent entry summarizing the problem, and giving the complaint letter he wrote.
Apps get pulled from the App Store every week due to complaints. We're trying to harness the power of the Internets, and the people who care about whether transpeople are seen as the humans they are (rather than objectified targets of mockery), to get this app removed from sale. Call this number to reach Apple: +1 (408) 974-2042 then push 0 to reach an operator. Tell the operator you're calling with a complaint about an offensive app, and they'll transfer you to the right department.
Signal-boosting appreciated. Thanks, everyone. :)
ETA: The Internets rock! It's been pulled.
