Back home on leave, and it's going pretty well. I learned that my theory on alcohol and cities that are distant from bases is correct: The further away from a military installation you get, the easier it will be for an under 21 soldier to get a drink.
Houston's 3 hours from Ft Hood, so not many people see soldiers here ( national guard hardly classifies as a soldier ) so when I flash my ID, I've gotten a drink. And I SHOULD, considering I won't turn 21 till I get to Iraq, and then I can't drink until a year later when we return.
So I've gotten drunk once thus far. Spending time with family and friends, though if someone asks me ' do you have a girlfriend ' or 'why not?' one more time, I'm going to fucking shoot somebody.
