I first heard of this book when I watched Blind Flight on the Sundance channel and I absolutely loved the movie. I didn't realize at the time that the movie was based on the real-life accounts of Brian Keenan (an Irish school-teacher) and John McCarthy (a British reporter), when they were held hostage for 4 years by terrorists in Beirut.
