Feathered Firespitter in color Done at last! I'm finally satisfied with his paint job. I redid it several times, and then at the end I accidentally went overboard with the interference paints, obscuring most of the detail. But there's no going back on that now, and I still like it enough that I'm not going to redo it. And the iridescence is really neat and shimmery IRL. So, I'll consider it to be a lesson learned and move on.
And that makes one more down on my end of the year to-do list. Whether or not I get to the other items in time is, ah...up in the air at the moment. The labwork is going terribly. I've redone the bacteria-brewing stage three times--I keep getting locked out of the building before all the steps are finished, and then I have to start over. I wish the lab manager had warned me that they would be locking the building up at unpredictable and arbitrary times during vacation. It's ruining my entire break. Argh.
I do intend to have a short story finished for next week's Ebony_silks theme though. And I've got some other stuff I'm working on, but I'm shifting things around in my mental Writing queue, so I won't go into that right now.
Next up in the art queue though:
~I finally got in the last supplies I need for two new felting projects, one of which is intended as a gift, so these're top priority. Also, I've come up with a way to revamp my current felting project, which I've been discouraged with and haven't touched in several months, so I'm quite happy that it'll end up being salvaged after all. That one is low priority though.
~I'm still on a drawing/painting kick, and am trying to wrap up a couple of unfinished pictures sitting on my hard drive. I'm feeling particularly in the mood for sequential art, but I'm hesitant to start anything. Lets face it: I draw really slowly.
~Tidepool dragon is still sitting on my shelf. I have done some minor apoxie repairs. It is still a nightmare. We'll see if I'm masochistic enough this semester to work on it, or whether I have to break out the mesh and start something new.
...Of course, I have severe Art ADD. Therefore, anything and everything is subject to change, at any time. Blame the muse. She's in charge.
