It was a shock for them all when the anomaly in the Forest of Dean opened again.
But the person who walked out of the Anomaly was a lot more shocking.
Claudia stood there with a delicate lead formed of twisted grasses, in her right hand, smiling at Lester whilst holding a snarling Cygnognathus on a soft collar at the end of the lead.
Behind her stumbled a bedraggled Helen Cutter, hands bound together, also on a lead, but with a scratchy collar around her neck.
After filling out some papers, then giving some explanations, and filling out more papers followed by a temper tantrum from Helen, Claudia was accepted at last.
Cutter was finally exonerated from his whiff of lunacy when he'd first met Jenny Lewis and was freed from his daily appointment with the in-house shrink.
Jenny had taken Claudia into custody, showing her around the ARC, and had given her some of her clothes and told her all about the changed world outside.
Lester, still recovering from the proof of love from Claudia's pet saurian, watched Helen pace back and forth in her small cell and his mood lifted noticably.
Nick was just glad he had his Claudia back, at last. This time he wouldn't waste all his opportunities again. Tomorrow he would ask Claudia out for a date.
With a spring in his step he went home.
In his house a surprise was waiting for him. The front door was not looked, in the living room stood a perfect cooked dinner for three people and in the bathroom steamed a nice bubble bath.
In the bedroom he found Jenny Lewis and Claudia Brown kneeling naked on his bed and kissing.
"Hallo, Nick, how nice of you to come home at last," both woman said simultaneously.
"I hope you don't mind me letting us in with Helen's old key," Claudia said.
Jenny caressed Claudia's breast and asked mischievously: "Want to join us?"
Nick stared over at the two nearly identical woman on the bed, sensually licking their lips, and felt the start of a headache.
