Smallville

Manips

From velvetglove we have this masterpiece: (And follow the warning! Follow it!) Dirty!Wrong Manip--Do Not Open At Work

That's a *really* nice birthday present right there. From goss, another one that's probably not the best to open at work.

Stories

Especially considering how rude LJ has been to scribblinlenore's entries, I want to make sure you don't miss this one. Fun, and sweet with a tricky! Lex and a confused and befuddled Clark. Getting the Picture

Fall Into, from lyra_sena. This story has beautifully balanced descriptions without it becoming bogged down in the prose. You can lose yourself in the story so easily. It's just--I'm going to be redundant and say that it's *beautiful*, and it's everything you'd ever want a first kiss story to be.

Lex straightens the collar of Clark’s shirt, tugs the robe around his shoulders, smoothing the fabric. It’s coarse, and the cheap polyester scratches at the tips of his fingers. He looks over Clark’s shoulder and he can see tiny particles of dust falling through the sun-filtered air, and for a moment, he wishes he could, too.

Fall like that. Just let go and drift with no meaning, or choosing.

Like a dream that only ends when Lex wakes up contented - the kind of dream he rarely has. The one where lines blur and shapes collapse, the one that only makes sense in cover of night, before morning brings reality.

The one that tastes like sugar haze.

*points* Can't you just feelbreathetaste this?

Poor Richard from fizzabith. The sequel to "Mountains and Molehills" (and as she says in the preface to her post, you should read that one first) and it tells of a particularly painful day for Lex. Over half a year in the making, but the wait is worth it. Put yourself in a S2 frame of mind (I know, I know, you probably don't want to but really, it works even better.)

Lex grinned. "So, Clark," he dropped his voice to a lower register. "What are you wearing right now?"

There was a long pause. Perhaps initiating phone sex with the person who'd ditched you after you attempted to suck him off wasn't the greatest idea.

Lex was about to apologize, when he heard, "What are you talking about, Lex? I'm wearing the same thing as I was when I came over this afternoon."

If Lex hadn't been holding the phone with one hand and his cock with the other he would've slapped his forehead. "Clark, work with me. You know, I didn't get off today. I'd like to."

*grins* You know you want to read that. *pets Lex*

WIP Rec:

Okay so this WIP absolutely must be encouraged. It *must*.

I'm thoroughly invested in it now. I don't really know what's happening yet but I just have to. Ignore the weird formatting issues in the first couple of parts. They distracted me but nowhere near enough to disturb the action of the story.

Every time either one of them mentioned "Arkham" fic, I got a little shiver in my spine, and here it is, from seperis and chain_lightning:

Read, and tell them you want more!more!more!

Arkham, Parts One-Four

Part One--Clark, by Jenn

Part II--Clark, by Jenn

Part Three--Lex, by Devin

Part Four--Lex, by Devin

The O.C.

Not a story, but I'm putting it here anyway. It's a good visual aid. From edigo, we now have: "Graphic Evidence of Seth Cohen's Undying Love for Ryan Atwood, Part 1 (The Pilot): The Only Slightly-Spoilerish Tale of Ryan and Seth's Tru Love". Lots of spot-on pictures and captions that show how Seth and Ryan's love is *canon*, all the way. Blather. Rinse. Repeat

Justice League

Justice League has been rocking the house, seriously. scribblinlenore has succumbed and agreed to watch, based on aelora's fantastic screencaps and the rumblings around LJ. serrico has fallen as well, which makes me happy because of that age old equation: More viewers=More possibility of fic. Don't you love the simplicity of that? You know you want to come to the party too, and jl_fic is more than ready to welcome you. The fic has been following suit with the strength of this show.

Familiarity from liviapenn and thete1

Dick wants... he wants the kind of life where the words 'are you okay?' are perfectly acceptable parts of the English language, and not just invitations to vast, horrible trauma. He settles for, "So. Wally." Winces internally at the lameness.

At this point I think I would have been elated to see Livia write a grocery list, so the fact that she wrote something so filling and fantastic, and something that made me want to go out and rent "Return of the Joker" despite the fact I previously had no inclination whatsoever to see it--*that* thrills me.

thete1 has been prolific as of late in JL: Reflections and its sequel The Other Side. "A Better World" inspired these two and that episode is worthy of having a fic marathon *just for it alone*. I could read stories based on that episode for a great deal of time--it gave such huge amounts of material for everyone to work with.

Wally swallows and Batman reaches out before he can think, stopped only by another one of those laughs. "I don't. I really don't want to know what you plan to do about the fact that I have. Bodily functions."

Drug you. Hold you. *Mine*. "I won't hurt you."

"God. God, this is so fucked *up*. What the hell do you *want*? It's not like I have the secret to... to taking over the world or whatever the hell you psychotic evil types want to do."

"That was Superman."

"You're not -- Christ, you're not *helping*. You --" And then Wally stops, bangs his head back against the pillow again and again.

Laughs. Long and loud and just a little helpless.

"I just get the feeling that... somebody needs to be watching Batman. *Our* Batman. Because I don't think anyone really knows just how screwed up you really are."

He chances a smile. "Superman does."

I just didn't *get* the Wally love before this season. I do now though. Thanks to the show and stories like *that*, I do now.

Harry Potter

Just discovered this story and--wow. H/D of course.

Take It And Like It by Sara

"Argh," Harry said succinctly. He tried again. "What do you expect me to do here, Malfoy? Forget everything that's happened in the last five years? Entirely ignore the fact that your father wants me dead? And also, that you hate me and I hate you and that's the way things are?"

"It doesn't have to be," Malfoy said. "And even if it is, think of the shagging, Potter."

My love for mistful doesn't seem like it'll stop increasing anytime soon. In Loved Those of Great Ambition, she shows that: It should be a truth universally acknowledged that you never really get over your first love.

Only Maya could get me reading Draco/Pansy (though...it...isn't...) and just adore it. The story is set in her fascinating UL universe and God, you need to *read that*.
