Wednesday it rained a lot and school was good because I didn't have to take a government test or spanish quiz. Math was annoying but it's over and I went home from school right away. It was still raining so i slept intermittently until about 10:45 pm. I woke up, bought friendly's ice cream to satisfy my cravings and drove to John's house. All the seniors from last year were there plus Chris, Kyle, Steve, John, Me, Brittany. Then about five other people came to make it a total of about 18 people in his upstairs room. We played video games, intense floor hockey (where I killed John's little brother), and other fun games. I left at midnight, waited for mom to get home, and packed until 1 am.
Thursday I woke up, packed some more, left with mom at 8 am and drove to JFK. My flight was okay, I sat next to this older woman with the same voice as the narrator woman in The Jane Austen Book Club. She was a Messianic Jew and gave me this book on finding Jesus before the plane ride was over. I bought
The Time Traveler's Wife in the airport and finished it in a matter of three days. It's an incredible story, and I'm so happy they are making it into a movie. This is one of those books that make you feel so many different things at once and just sucks you in completely that it echoes within you days or even weeks after you've finished it. I arrived at Long Beach at 3 pm California time and Grandpa and Grandma picked me up. We drove to Los Angeles to Hatcher and MB's house to meet Hatcher and my Uncle. Uncle Andy and I drove to get Chinese food where we bonded forever and then went home and ate. I finally met MB. They showed me their house (zoo). They have three dogs (now four), a chinchilla, lots of fish, two gerbils, so many lizards and iguanas, and now Hatcher wants to buy a skink. Hatcher made me a nice birthday gift. We made Easter Eggs.
Friday I woke up and had Uncle Andy's "healthy" French Toast. Then Grandma Grandpa and Uncle Andy and I went to Venice Beach and walked around. Then we ate at California Pizza Kitchen while Uncle Andy got Hatcher from school. Then Grandpa was crazy in the parking lot which was cute because Hatcher has an adorable laugh. We picked up Hatcher's best friend, Benjamin Garcia, and drove to Universal City Walk. We walked around in the nice weather and had such a nice drive home. At night MB let me borrow her Academy DVD's so I watched Juno and Atonement. I should have watched I'm not there, also but I ran out of time. MB's friend is on the board who decides who gets the Academy Awards so she had all the cool DVD's. MB works on special effects in Hollywood and for commercials.
Saturday we left early to go to Palm Springs. We were attacked by a swarm of motorcycles on the freeway. After we drove through the most luscious green mountains. We arrived and we went to the pool and met grandma's friends and drove around on her golf cart. We met her friends for dinner at La Casita for Mexican food. The food was so good. The dinner conversation was great -- politics and love! I went home and slept.
Sunday morning I ate breakfast and they took me to the market. I got the best new hat, new Peruvian sweater, a wallet, and a water bottle holder. It was so good. Later we went to town with grandma and grandpa and ate at a dinner. After we drove we went home and we went to the pool. I don't remember a lot of the day because I slept a lot and relaxed a lot. I got Baskin Robbin's also. Grandma and Grandpa feed me so well.
Monday was the last day and I visited Grandpa at the trains. Then I passed out for a really long time. I took a bath. We ate at In n Out! Such good cheeseburgers. Probably the best and healthiest ever. Then dinner was Panera Bread. Grandpa made a scene and it was so so funny. I love my grandparents. They then drove me to Ontario Airport. I was there three hours early. I just hung out in the airport and listened to Animal Collective and Andrew Bird for so long. My plane left at midnight California time. I got picked up by a car this morning and got home at 9 am. I went to town for an errand. I called Sarah. Sarah picked me up, we drove by Greg's house and proceeded to Toys R' Us. We looked at gender stereotyping in the toys for psychology. I came home and got Benjamin lunch. I am home now and I might play games later with friends but probably not. I'm sort of jet lagged a little bit and still have some Psychology and English to do.
Overall my break was really relaxing. It was so good to see Uncle Andy, meet his bride-to-be and son-to-be. They are so incredibly loving and nice. Uncle Andy is really happy and that's what counts. I loved seeing Grandma and Grandpa too. They are a pair. The weather was so good and the scenery was so beautiful. Next time I go back we are going to Mexico, and mountain biking, and sailing, and to national parks, and driving along the coast. It'll be so good.
