my mum watches andy griffith when she's sick.
my dad smokes weed on long stretches of dark louisiana highway.
my youngest brother is taller than i am now.
my other brother has a union job and his own apartment.

i still have nights when i get drunk and maudlin,
or just drunk and sobby.
the boys in my life never know how to handle it.

but usually i am pretty good at smiling.

seriously, though, life is alright.
