Remember earlier this year when our august Supreme Court handed down its ruling in Citizens United v. FEC, a grand decision thanks to Conservative Justices who actually know how to interpret the constitution.....remember how that ilicited a slew of shrill responses from the likes of Keith Olbermann,Rachel Maddow, and other other Left-Wing ( Read more... )

I remember this. The left threw a huge it's-the-end-of-the-world fit about it.

Yeah. The right taught us, unfortunately, how well that works.

No way. The left is much better at fit throwing... damn hippies.

p.s.- my previous comment is meant to be read tongue-in-cheek. I think both sides are equally capable of some pretty good whining.

where are the Corporate Manchurian Candidates that were supposed to take over??

What makes you think they haven't already taken over? The point that Maddow and Olberman have been trying to make is that the SCOTUS decision went the wrong way in correcting an *existing* problem. But of course you don't watch those shows, so how could you be expected to know what you are talking about?

hey Olbermanns the guy who compared it to Dred Scott.....besides,the only solutions the Left could come up with is to limit free speech....

A corporation exists only by virtue of a corporate charter issued by a governing body. The view is that unlike individuals, corporations cannot act or claim to act as a moral entity. Thus, corporations do not rise to the standards of being an individual and should not be considered as such. Just as there are more regulations imposed upon corporations, there can and should be more regulation regarding what constitutes free speech as a corporate entity.

It is interesting to note that corporations work to promote "free speech" by corporations whereas most corporations work toward quashing free speech by their employees. In essence, free speech is good when it gets us what we want at the expense of the governed, it is bad when it allows employees to do so at our expense.

We will probably apologize several millenia after the Conservatives apologize for the disastrous Bush administration. Oh, and about the comment: "Conservative Justices who actually know how to interpret the constitution", thanks for designating yourself more knowledgeable about the constitution than the former professor of constitutional law. Ya' know, the President.

Regarding the free market knowing best? I think we're seeing that in the Gulf of Mexico right now.

HA! With the current guy in office, Bush is looking better and better each day.....And Scalia could run circles around Obama in terms of constitutional knowledge....

I'm surprised he didn't mention Clarence Thomas, the advocate of torturing prisoners.
