First of all, I have to say way to go, Canada. Second of all, I tried to imagine a deal like this in the US and just had to shake my head. Not in a million years. Especially not in any place where they might have trees AND oil.
IMO I think something like this might only be workable in the US if series lobbyist reforms were enacted in addition to more government encouragement of "green logging."
