I'm thinking more in terms of the Klan (which was much more lethal and operated with a much higher degree of impunity than these groups) and the occasional "lone nut" prompted by "leaderless resistance" like Tim McVeigh, Jim David Adkisson, David Lewis Rice, Eric Rudolph...
