I'll actually ask this here.

So can someone please tell me what in the world is going on? Passions have been flaring here since yesterday. Slow news day or what!?

You're really really not making this easy for us, guys. I hate being the bad guy for no reason, but Hell is my witness, along with all the witches and goblins in there, we'll do whatever it ( Read more... )

The more leeway you give to trolls, whiners, or simply bored guys who think Internet+Anonymity=Awesomeness, the more they'll step into the vacuum you're ready to vacate, and would fill it with all sorts of crap you can imagine. Then you try to push back, and you're suddenly the bad guy. I know this trick because I've been a troll, whiner, and a bored bitch myself.

Considering the insane shit I've seen posted on Facebook, I gave up my theory that doing away with Internet "anonymity" would be a cure all for the worst offenses, but on the other hand, Google Plus doesn't seem to have it, at least from what I've seen so far (and that could be due to the smaller number of users there).

Ummm...no, you haven't. I've seen you act as an internet superhero trying to save this place from "mavericks" a time or two. And though internet superheroes tend to act sort of like trolls, the motivation is completely different.

Seriously, there's an actual science to this sort of thing.

It'll come eventually. I'll probably regret posting it though. The average LJer handles certain concepts about as well as a monkey handles a math problem.

I for one am looking forward to it.

Then I hope you're looking forward to quite a few people giving a "Whaddaya mean I don't know about trolls? NOOOOO!!! UUUUUU!!!!" type response. ;)

Seriously, every sap who's been on the internet only because of the recent android mobile technology thinks they're an expert on such things.

For someone so strong of will and intellect, you seem utterly scared by what people might respond to you. ;)
After all, it's taking you a whole eternity to fight your fear and finally write a post. Yep, any post.
