Card thanks, further thoughts on A:TLA

I took a break from watching the first season of Merlin to continue with Avatar: The Last Airbender. A few people on my last post proclaimed that it gets better in second season, and, wow, they were right! I really love it now and am totally addicted. If you're like me and you feel a little "meh" after the first season, definitely stick with it. It suddenly becomes extremely compelling in season two as the characterization becomes richer and more emotionally fulfilling. I particularly like what they're doing with Zuko's arc, and I LOVE (surprise, surprise) Toph. What an amazingly kick-ass character. I appreciate the amazingness of all of the female characters, actually: Katara is lovely and strong, and Azula is a brilliant villain. And the dialogue is freakin' hilarious! Sokka in particular cracks me up. Fandom, I admit it, you were right and I was wrong. This show is great. :D
