Gossip Girl: Fannish osmosis is a wonderful thing. I feel as if I don't ever have to watch Gossip Girl because I've learned everything I need to know about it from the two vids below. I've learned that Blair is fucked up but strangely appealing, and that Chuck and Nate are fucked up and fucking each other. *brushes hands* I'm all done here!

I am in love with the song choice here. It's perfect for the Blair that is revealed in this vid, a beautiful, breakable doll. With extremely intelligent editing decisions, ebstarr4 utilizes the music and lyrics to full ironic effect; the bubbly, twinkly music contrasted with the pathetic, brittle reality of life lived as a "Barbie."

This vid is absolutely gorgeous. The coloring is amazing, and the flow is mesmerizing. As I commented to proofpudding, she's got me shipping Chuck/Nate simply on the strength of this vid. It's that good. And hot.

There'll Always Be Closing Night by heidi8
Here's another instance of a fantastically appropriate song choice. I was actually kind of blown away by the boldness of heidi8's decision here. The song is quirky in the extreme and sounds like it belongs in a comedic burlesque, but the lyrics and the clips are all about death and doom and hell and despair. What a juxtaposition! *applauds wildly*

Funny, funny vid that gave me a jolt of '80's nostalgia. Oh, Salt 'n' Pepa, you were the shit back in the day. :) There're some really laugh out loud hilarious edits: super-clever timing and effects use, and dead-on lip-synching. This one put a huge grin on my face.
