I knew you back then, and you definitely didn't. I don't think I did much of that either, but I can't remember if the other teens at the boards I went to did or didn't.
And Sugar Quill really made it clear it was a place for intelligent, worthwhile speculation and discussion. The mods reinforced that. Not all communities do - I've complained to some mods and admins before and was pretty much told to get over it or leave.
I have to be fair, though, because not only is it absolutely true that not all teen fans are like that (as demonstrated by you and I), but adults can be like that as well. I can think of one community specifically where people talked like that and I'd go to their profiles to find out they were in their twenties and thirties. As another SQ friend pointed out once, I think Sugar Quill spoiled us a bit, because conversations were so focused and in-depth.
Then again, even at SQ there were a few people who still acted silly in ways that got annoying, whether they were fourteen or forty year old fans.
