Haiku wars is a result of me not allowing Jesse's haiku in the literary magazine. I was challenged to a haiku-off which resulted in an all-club full-out e-mail haiku war.
This entire war is going to be published in my university's literary magazine so it may be preserved for generations to come.
JESSE:
This is a haiku
They are not allowed to rhyme
I am a ninja
RACHAEL:
What is that cruel sound?
Masaoka Shiki’s cries
The haiku has died
DAVE:
Tragedy happens
Sometimes laughing helps, Rachael
Vote for Ralph Nader
TOM:
Haiku forever
Nader is a lost cause Dave
I am the Batman
JASMIN:
Danger in Gotham
Tom, if you are the Dark Knight
Hope is surely lost
RAJ:
Oh look what is that?
Batman can’t save the haiku
The Joker has won
JESSE:
Still, the world is now
We wait for a sign from Nick
No gods among men
A dull moon rising
We cannot call the Knight
Who will save us now?
Please ignore my words
These uncountable haikus
I am bored at work
TOM:
Wow, that was epic.
Clearly a haiku master
Jesse is winner.
DAVE:
Silly Man Hoeler
He was never the batman
Again breaks my heart
TOM:
Do not despair Dave
You should not doubt the Dark Knight
Lest you be Joker
JESSE:
I am the Joker
I haunt your dreams and nightmares
Say goodnight, daddy.
NICK:
Why so serious?
He has no cape, nor makeup.
By Joker, he kids.
PIERCE:
Haikus in PIECEWORK?
A new world dawns on the hill.
What heights await us?
DAVE:
Good evening my friend
Let's put a smile on that face
Come on and hit me
RACHAEL:
The Dark Knight has won
But what else did I expect?
Surrounded by nerds
DAVE:
Nerd is a strong word
We are but fans of the film
Or we are ninjas
TOM:
We are indeed nerds
Of the highest caliber
Glory to the geeks
NICK:
Geeks, to this I say:
Never gunna give you up.
Run around, hurt you.
RICK ROLLED. PWNED.
