This is an update. My wife has been bugging me to write more so, here goes:
It's really foggy outside. My poor wife had to drive through it in the EARLY morning, all to make her boss happy. It's funny how much weather can affect moods. I'm writing this entry drinking tea and listening to an acoustical set by Nirvana.
I've created an English Pale Ale, which is currently carbonating in bottles, as we speak. Should be ready the second week of October.
The bagpipes continue. A couple of weeks ago, I was thinking about joining a pipe band. Now, I'm not so sure. The first problem is that some of the music they play is VERY simple. It's the kind of music that you learn when you first start playing an instrument. Imagine playing "Mary Had A Little Lamb" as part of a jazz band or something........ I was going to mention more, but it's probably simply left at that.
I've been re-reading Neil Gaiman's Sandman series. He's a truly fantastic writer and, with the exception of a couple books, they found a lot of great talent for illustrating the story. I'm amazed how he can take bits and pieces of mythology and weave them all together into a cohesive story. Everything from Greek myth to Dante's Inferno. I guess we all have to be a fanboy of something.. hehe.
I'm also reading one of Noam Chomsky's political books. I dunno.. I'm a little disappointed. It's little things, like how he will make a point, make a citation or two and then write something like "many experts concur with this opinion" WITH NO CITATION. It's still interesting. His point (at least as far as I'm into the book) is that Iraq is a testing ground for spreading America's influence and power. He says that the powers-that-be envision setting up a system where America is the pre-eminent power that will allow for no other rival (China, etc). Instead of working with other governments they want to dictate to them. Like I said before I'm a little disappointed and a little skeptical.
