Made a friend of the Western sky

Today was OK.

After staying up until 4am, I decided it detrimental to my health to go to my Spanish class this morning at 9:20. So instead, I shut my alarm off and went back to sleep until noon when Jenn was calling me to go to Curves.

Curves was, as always, a welcome retreat. I love being able to go and stretch and move parts of my body that don't work that hard any other time of day. And I just feel really good when I'm done. And I really wish I had a car of my own, so I could go when I wanted to. I was really hoping to be down a size at least for 7Ds.

In other news, I'm most likely going to be a member of Kappa Delta Pi - the national honros society for education majors. I meet the criteria perfectly, and the faculty advisor for the Mville chapter happens to be my professor for my Fundamentals of Middle Childhood Education class.... and just today he refered to me as one of his "Star pupils." Weee... back to being teacher's pet. Heh... is it sick or sad that I take pleasure in being teacher's pet?

I also went to the Vagina Monologues meeting tonight in Spellman. I'm not in it, though I wanted to be... but it's this weekend and, well... I'm not missing Seven Deadlies. So instead, I helped them paint posters for advertising and for the stage decoration. I opted for some vagina art - like the ones I painted for the suite's art gallery. The goddess figure, holding up a gigantic pearl of some sort. She's held inside some kind of vortex - so it looks like she's encased in a giant vulva, holding up the clitoris. Beautiful, really.

FOUR more days till Seven Deadlies!!!!! *Dances* I can't wait! Sooooo much to do - get garb packed, make sure Amber is progressing on my gown, make sure I have all accessories needed (hair stick, jewelry, belt, boots, otter... yes, I said otter), PJs, clothes for Sunday and Monday, and other various and sundry things. I need to think of a good investiture gift for Ed still... it'll come to me, I know...

Valentine's Day. Meh. I'm not big on the holiday. But Dennis wanted to do something special. he knows he doesn't always express how much he loves me, and wanted to, I guess, make it up to me. So I told him I wanted a date. A bona fide date.

We went to a beautiful and absolutely wonderful place in New Britain called "East Side" - a German restaurant. The waitresses wore traditional German costumes, and there was an accordionist wandering the rooms playing diners' requests. It was amusing to hear a be-leiderhosened (sp??) man play "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling" on the accordion in a German restaurant. And even funnier when he played not only "Hail Brittania" but also "Auld Lang Syne".... so we had all the Brits represented... well... except for the Manx and the Welsh.

But the food was purrrrrfect. I had the roast chicken (they were out of duck). All the meals come as a full course meal. So I had a dish of chicken liver pate, a salad, and my main course - half of a whole roast chicken, that was stuffed with herb stuffing, with mashed postatoes (red ones with the skin still on - my favorite!) and cranberry sauce. Dennis had onion soup, salad and sauerbraten (beef cutlets with a sour cream sauce), and mashed potatoes. They put a huge, divided bowl on the table - one side had masjed carrots in ginger, the other had corn. And for dessert I had a German chocolate sundae (German chocolate cake covered with pudding and vanilla ice cream) while Dennis had apple strudel with ice cream.

Y.U.M.

And it was just very sweet. I had a great time. Then afterwards, we met Lucia and Ben and Ashleigh and Noni at the Milestone. We had a great time :) Heh - me, Lucia and Heather (the bartender) wanted to get up and sing "I Touch Myself" under the group name "The Fatties" - there's a group of tone-deaf college girls who go there every weekend and insist on singing Bon Jovi and Shania Twain. Poorly. And they call themselves "The Skinnies"... how.... nauseating. So yeah... we're kinda fed up with them and were going to take back the mic with our own music! Rock on!

So... that was my weekend in less than a nutshell.
And my day in one as well :)

Sorry for the long post, but yeah... one is better than a million.

PS: I can't stop coughing! *whimper*
