Morning Fuzziness
I hate having 9:20 classes. Especially when it's really important that I go to them regularly.
It seems no matter how much sleep I get at night, my body just does NOT want to wake up for this hour of day. I wish I had another hour or two. But.. I do have a small break between classes. I get out at 10:35, and my next class isn't for another three hours. So I could, technically, shower and sleep then. But will I? Probably not. We'll see. Usually once I let myself outside in the freezing, arctic cold I'm awake for the rest of the day.
Which brings me to my rants that I've been sitting on for a while:
1) Why is it so difficult for two or more people who are walking in the opposite direction (coming towards me) on the sidewalks on campus to move into a single file line when it's obvious I'm not going to walk in the snow just for the sake of their finishing their conversation? I mean, all too often people walking side-by-side on the already-narrow, barely plowed sidewalks are so rude and make me STOP just so they don't have to budge. The polite thing to do would be to make two lanes of traffice during busy school hours - one going towards Brownson, the other coming from Brownson.... but no. What Tom was wearing yesterday is so much more important... right?
2) Okay... it was really warm yesterday, right? And prior to that there wasa fuckload of snow on the ground, correct? But then it got really cold again? What does this mean, everyone? ICE. Lots of it! The sidewalks are sheeted with black ice, including those sections that are on a significant incline! I've already fallen once on black ice, my back hurts a little and I have two scraped knees (nothing to cry over, but still..), and last night I nearly fell at least three times just trying to get myself safely back to Tenney from class!! I decided to risk frozen toes and walk in the snow rather than fall on my ass and almost break something. Okay... security dudes (or maintenance dudes... whoever you are) of Manhattanville - SALT THE FUCKING SIDEWALKS!!!!!!!
