I found out today that the trailer for Watchmen used the Smashing Pumpkin's track The beginning is the end is the beginning.
I am insanely fucking happy about this. This track was the B side to The End is the beginning is the end, a track that was, unfortunately, used as the theme on that utter abortion of a Batman movie Batman & batnipples Robin. And yes, I bought the single when it came out. And I still have it. And yes, it is still playable. The leya takes care of her toys. (especially when CD singles were $7 a pop, and I had $20 a fortnight pocket money in my teens)
It's really odd, but I am seriously stoked that track got to be used on a more deserving engine. And now I'm pondering doing the flipside to an mvid :D (the two songs are not quite identical - there are some lyrical differences - but musically, one is the slow decay, while the other is utter furious destruction, both along the same lines. And both work, wonderfully.
We can watch the world devoured in its hate....
(yes yes dammit, I know, late to the party, but I did avoid the movie of Watchmen for a reason - after LXG (utter cack, but I do love cheese) and what was done to V for Vendetta....I did not hold high hopes. Then Zack Snyder and small leaks and borrowing it off
Dulthar and holy shit, it's GLORIOUSLY true to the graphical novel *EEE!* Mustest purchase Director's cut)
