When you're the only one...

For the second time in my life I had my own private screening at a full-fledged-I-paid-for-a-ticket movie theater. And by "private screening" I mean I was the only one who showed up in the theater for this particular screening time. I love it when that happens. :) You don't have to feel weird if you laugh, cry, or mock the film because there's no one there to look at you funny. Not that I really had any moments to do so at this particular movie.

I went to see "The Reader" tonight. And it is a very well made production. It's a story, and that's all it is. There's no right or wrong way to feel once the curtain falls, but you do constantly find your emotions siding with and then against the main character many times during the course of the film. In all actuality there are nothing but naked bodies during the first 30 minutes (and mostly male at that) and I was beginning to wonder what the heck they were doing for a plot, but then the plot-progression kicks in and it's a good ride. I can certainly see why Kate Winslet got an Oscar for this role. It's very well done.

So there you have it. My own private screening. At least this time around I can say it was a well received movie (unlike the last time this happened). ^^ I hope to be able to have more private screenings in the future - for they are awesomeness canned. :D

awesomeness, movie
