NOTE: Coming tomorrow or Monday, Moersho and Dante's joint post!

Cyrene's body hovered high above the ground for a moment before plummeting to earth. The wind kicked up her dirty-blonde hair, blew back her loose goggles, and tugged playfully at her clothing.

She laughed, the sounds of her rucuss silenced by the violent rush of air. The ground drew nearer by the second.

Below her windtossed body, the lights of Basten flickered an eiree orange. The town looked odd at night, yet seemed tranquil. Serene glimmers of Dawn's Gate shone in the far distance. To the South East, Cyrene's eyes, near watering over, could barely make out the flickering Post Eastern, adrift in the blackness of the early morning.

A roar filled the air around her. To any other, the bestial call would have surely inspired terror; Cyrene laughed playfully.

"Sho, what did I tell you about making a racket?" she cooed.

Above her, wings flush in a dive, a juevenille Dragon hovered over her. Its eyes shone a bright blue in the dusky air.

The ground was drawing too near. Cyrene waved her hand gracefully and th beast slid underneath her. She landed gracfully on the Dragon's back, as it ascended skywards again. Both roared in excitement.

Cyrene buttoned her loose green jacket, and fixed her goggles. Underneath the Wyvern's arms, two small harpoon launchers clinked in the high winds. Cyrene bent down and hugged the beast. "Come on, Sho, we best be headin' back before the el-"

The Dragon issued a growl, craning its head to look back at the rider. Cyrene tilted her head towards the ground, far below the soaring couple.

"It's Basten 'arbor...and the inlet. What are you fussin' about?"

The beast swooped lower.

"Sho, not too close! The treaty forbids us to come to close to Crossroad territory!"
Another roar. "What do you mean an ally is down there?" Sho broke into a dive. Cyrene pulled up on the leather harness, her teeth clentched tightly as the dragon's speed increased.

"No! We'll be seen!" The inlet screamed upwards at the pair. At the last moment, Sho pulled up, gliding peacfully above the inlet's waters. The smell of cannon fire filled the air.

Cyrene inhaled. "What happened here?" SHe carefully undid a small musket on her belt, and loaded a shot. Debris filled the water nearby; it looked to be pieces of a broken Alliance ship. "Sweet Renari...what blundering idiot attacked an Alliance vessel?" Sho emitted a noise that sounded like chuckling, as he flew closer tot he water's edge, running a black claw along the surface.

Cyrene's eyes widened under her goggles. Sho roared, ignoring Cyrene's request. The body of a young girl clung to a piece of driftwood. Cyrene gasped. Sho instinctivly picked up the body, with careful claws. Her form hung limp and wet from his strong grasp. A moment later, and the three were resting in the nearby grass, on the eastern bank of the inlet, slightly north of Basten.

Sho nodded. Cyrene removed her goggles. "A member of the Assassin's Guild? I did not think one of our allies would be stranded all the way out here." The girl was still breathing. Cyrene removed a small vial of healing mist from her bag and dusted the girl lightly with it.

Mizuki began to stir in her sleep.
