Finally went to see the latest harry Potter movie today.  Good movie. Of course alot had to be cut out from the book but overall a decent job of condensing what needed it and removing items that could be pruned without directly affecting the story line.  It was too bad that the bit over Ron and Hermione becoming prefects had to be cut out.  Casting was great.  Dolores Umbridge was a nasty piece of work and I loved how everything she owned was pink. Pity here couldn't have been more of Lupin's character or Mad Eye Moody for that matter.  The duel between Dumbledore and Voldemort was Wow.  The special effects were planned out so it really gave an idea of the massive amounts of magical energy that was being thrown about. Harry and the other student's fight with the Death Eaters was a bit choppy--I suspect that if an extended edition could be put out on DVD it would smooth out nicely.  And Lucius Malfoy is so smoothly evil. All of the movies have had some great casting in them.
It was a bit suprising that there were a total of 7 previews before the movie started.  A couple look dumb but The Golden Compass looks interesting and Enchanted (I think that's right) looks like a good silly movie.  And there's a remake of "Get Smart" coming out! Amazingly it looks like it stayed true to the spirit of the show (something Dukes of Hazard did not do [gag] in my opinion).  I wish I had caught the latest Pirates of the Carribean at the theaters but it just didn't happen.
This wa a crazy week at work in some respects.  It was only a two day clinic which in hindsight was for the best.  Starts off on Tuesday night, I go down to DeValls Bluff since we are going to leave out in the morning.  Matt's roommate, Brandon, brings his dog Sadie over for us to take over to Wynne to spay.  Sadie is a boxer-shar pei-ppit mix.  Since she knows what pet doors are she had to be kenneled to keep her from running back off over to Matt's and Brandon's place.  She fussed some while Dian and I were still awake but after everyone went to bed she started barking and whining and kept it up for I swear an hour.  She didn't go potty in the kennel--I thnk she just wanted to be out with everyone.  Dian had her doctor's appointment on Thursday so I took my own car and Sadie went in it since Dian had Jasper and Noca with her and Christie.  Sadie whined a good portion of the trip and then she urinated in my car! I was not a happy camper! Thnakfully most of it went on the back floor mat and wasn't too hard to clean up.  It was a goofy day though, it seemed like I was laughing over the least little bit and I think it was because I didn't get a good night's sleep. There was this one cat who literally jumped straight up in the air after getting her knock-out shot--a good 3-4 feet in the air at that! She somehow managed to claw Christie's hand all up when she launched off of it.  I dont' think I've ever seen a cat bounce like she did.  Then Dian's friend Peachie came over with her little foundling dog which I think is a Chesapeake cross.  She was relatively good but wanted to tussle and play with Noca so she had to go in a kennel.  Then there was the switching out of the window a/c units.  The one came out and water spilled all over Christie's shoes and legs.  We finally get done for the day and Peachie takes us out to eat.  We get back to the trailer to discover that Sadie and Noca have had a good time.  My box of drugs is scattered all over the sleeping area and it takes 15 minutes to find the first 23 bottles and another 15 to find the last two which I was beginning to wonder if those two bottles weren't in Noca and Sadie.  They also got ahold of Christie's tennis shoes and put a hole in her pillow case and they had scattered sunflower seeds.  Thankgoodness they didn't tear the drug bag up--it wasn't closed all the way and I think that was the only thing that saved it.  But it gets worse.  Sadie had urinated all over the bottom bunk! So Christie takes my car back to DeValls Bluff and Dian and I go to help Peachie load up her horses so she can take them over to a family member's place since the farrier was coming over and get their feet done.  Get the first two horses caught no problem.  The big palimino decides he doesn't want to get caught and was a royal pill. Finally get him and in the meantime one of the other ones gets himself loose and comes back over to the pasture gate.  Get them loaded up and head back.  Everything looks good until we hit the interstate and Peachie's truck starts to lose power severely.  It takes more than 20 minutes to travel 9 miles from one on-ramp to the next exit.  Dian manages to get the truck limped into her place and it isn't going to pull that trailer anywhere.  So the horses get unloaded and put in Dian's pasture and the trailer is unhitched and Peachie does manage to make it over to the family ember's place (I'm really confused to what exactly the relationship is).  Finally get to bed just before midnight. And that was the first day and that doesn't include the mess over the pit bull the shelter had there! That tale will have to wait until another day.
