Do you see the world through rose tinted lenses? Embrace ignorance like an old friend? Live your life knowing truth behind actions and actuality behind deflected reply? Can you fall into line, pretending nothing’s wrong, when deep inside you know there’s a flaw? Poisonous words in “you wouldn’t understand,” strangling your breath with “when you’re older.” I’ve gotten good at acting, pretending to miss the truth and ignore the issue. It’s a lie, a means to an end. Like Superman with X-ray vision your walls are useless I see right through them. Little twist in your words, that stumbling smile sending simple senses on an odyssey of Homeric proportions. Reality sojourns validity, silencing the truth with hazy veils and padlocks. People lying for the truth; lying for happiness.
If ignorance is bliss, I’d rather take madness.
