Recently Completed

*"Chasing Satellites,"  Length: app. 4.5k. SF short Submitted SOLD to Bryan Thomas Schmidt for "Beyond The Sun" anthology of space colonization stories. Publication Date: July, 2013 My first semi-pro sale, and yes, I'm still glowing about it.

* "So Much Loss," Length: app. 9k  Horror (with Wold-Newton aspects).  Submitted to Steve Berman's "Suffered From The Night: Queering Bram Stoker's Dracula" anthology. Awaiting decision.

* "Trailblazer," Length: app. 2k. Teen super-hero with a "lame" super-power wonders why he bothers. Submitted January 31 to Crossed Genres' OOMPH open call.

Works In Progress

* "Shapes and Stones," Length: app. 36k Back in the rotation of being edited/rewritten, after initial rejection.

* "Cold Weather, Tap Water" Goal: 6 to 10k. Originally intended for Steve Berman's open call for "Thy Dark Eye Glances: Queering Edgar Allan Poe." Blew that deadline, but still working on the story for other markets. Possibly will aim it for the open call for Ellen Datlow's Fearful Symmetries anthology.

* "Thumbsucker," app 2.5k. This is an older story of mine that I'm in the process of revising after constructive feedback from a rejection. Back from critique group and ready for rewriting.

* "Almost Hero," goal 5-7k. My original idea for the OOMPH anthology was this story about a guy who never quite gets to be the hero he wants to be, but I realized it didn't really fit the call, so I went with "Trailblazer" instead. I'll sort out the market for this after it's written.

Works In "Limbo"

* "Ambergrin Hall," my long-stalled mystery novel, which I know paragraphs wishes I would hurry up and finish. It really needs just a few more chapters. I have been considering taking certain parts of the book (the prologue, for one) and sending them out as shorts/novellas. I'd value input from my writer friends on the value vs. pitfalls of sending out "novel excerpts."

* "Christmas Ghosts," my YA Christmas story, also long-stalled.

* "Silver Bullets For A Little Angel," a one-act play of mine (never produced) that I'm reworking as a short story. Originally thought to aim it at Steve Berman's "Bad Seed" anthology about evil children, but Steve had a full TOC so it's on the back-burner.

Upcoming

* Story for Open Call for Ellen Datlow's Fearful Symmetries (see above)

* Story for Open Call for Crossed Genre's Fierce Families anthology.

* Story for Open Call for Glitter and Madness: The Speculative Nightclub anthology.
