Annnnnnnnndddddd ....
now my car is in the shop.
Filled the tank this morning; around 3:30pm two coworkers came in from a break and said "there's a gas smell near your car, and there's a small puddle underneath."
I checked, and I had another coworker who knows far more about cars check, and sure enough -- there is a slow drip. When I turn the car on, the gas gauge still reads "F" so it hasn't lost that much, but it's still a concern considering not only are there two days left in the workweek, there's also the trip to my sister's house on Saturday and the Relay For Life team dinner on Sunday not to mention anyplace else I choose to drive to during my week off. (At least I know I'm taking the train into the city Thurs-Sat, so no worries there.)
So the car is back with my mechanic (the guy I bought it from). He'll get to it in a day or so (very short-staffed at the moment). Hopefully, it is something relatively minor and not costly. Either way, it sucks, but hopefully it won't suck as badly as it could.
Meantime, one of the perks of working at a small company: instead of laying out money for a rental, I am using the company car at least for tonight. Obviously, it'll be a "drive home, drive back" type of night. Not going to take advantage of having the car.
