Well, the class here in Chicago went well. 39 people all told, quite a few who were here almost 4 years ago when I left the wireless microphone on while at the urinal in the men's room across the hall. We had a good laugh, talking about it and filling other people in on it. I also shared my "run out of town by the Houston Sheriff's Department" story. Good participation, good questions, good quiz scores.
Last night I opted for room service (which I rarely do any more) and to work on at least starting the short story reviews for Dark Faith. Between last night and tonight I have read and reviewed the first eight stories (well, six stories and two poems) and posted my thoughts over on
365shortstories . I will continue posting my thoughts over there as I read, and will do a full book review here when I'm done.
Tomorrow, I check out of here and head to Kenosha for the weekend to see my friends the Leahys. I don't believe we have anything ridiculously exciting planned, but we will have a good time just hanging out, eating, talking, etc. Their house is one of those places that feels like home when I'm away from home. They always at least pretend to be glad to see me. *grin*
The hotel internet has been spotty the past few nights, seems to be working well now. But I discovered today the hotel tv line-up does not include The CW or SyFy ... so no Smallville (which is being dvr'ed at home anyway) and no Merlin (which is not because I forgot to add it to the line-up before I left).
