Pre-travel day

I had a nice evening.

After a quick supermarket run, made dinner (a mix of pastas, in a vegetable sauce, with fresh-grated cheese and some pepperoni on the side).  Packed for the trip tomorrow.  Watched Heroes.  Watched the second half of Dancing With the Stars whilst cleaning most of the bathroom.  Watched Castle whilst coloring with colored pencils in one of my Harry Potter coloring books because I needed to relax a little bit.  Really, a good evening.

Had some issues with the laptop.  Mostly, the problems seem to be: a) very slow starting up, b) if it's running some kind of live-update or scan, everything slows to a crawl, c) AIM often locks up, especially if someone sends me a message when AIM is still opening ... but tonight it happened as I was sending a message myself, after the program had completely opened.

It is possible (and I will consult with infinityltd  on this when I get the chance) that the whole thing just needs to be mind-wiped and have everything re-installed.  I have backed up all of my writing and all of my photos onto the external hard drive, and all of my music onto cds.  Should something happen, I may lose programs and such, but I won't lose the things that really matter to me.

So again I'm a bit behind on the things I'd like to be commenting on.  Tonight's Heroes of course, and I'd like to at least give my overall impressions of the first three hours of Flashforward.  And I had meant to write up  my thoughts on just why Dracula is my favorite novel and start commenting chapter-by-chapter (in posts that will feature LJ cuts so that I don't clog up the flists of people who could care less about this project), but once again I find the night has gotten away from me.  1am!  I have the flight to Omaha tomorrow (about 3 hours), I'll have the flight home Friday (ditto) and I'll have at least one meal alone in between, so there will be much read to be commented on as well.

For now, though, I think ... sleep.
